Yet Another Wet Experiece

As some of you may know we already cleaned up a pond and we won the first round of the Lexus Environmental Challenge and we are in the process of entering the world challenge. For our second project we decided we needed to educate the public about we are doing and what they can do to help the ever rising problem we are facing. We met and were able to distribute about 200 fliers about water pollution to shops and houses in just two days. We were walking along and we thought that our project needed a little more jazz so that we would feel more confident in our project winning. We realized that the answer to our problem had been staring us in the face all along, and our science teacher had been suggesting it all along as well. We needed to extend our project from our original project and so we decided that we wanted to clean as many ponds and streams as possible before our deadline is up. We cleaned a stream in another park and we didn't get as much garbage as the first time (only about 20 pounds) but we still think we did a great job since the stuff we did find was buried and caught under rocks. We would probably have gathered more but it started to rain and some of our shoes were soaked so we headed home for the day. Even as we cleaned up the garbage, ducks started landing in the stream and so we knew that even though we didn't pick up that much garbage it still made a difference to wildlife.
